AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to the  usage  and
  warning labels of over-the-counter drugs

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
399-i to read as follows:
  S 399-I. USAGE AND WARNING LABELS OF OVER-THE-COUNTER DRUGS.  THE DRUG
INFORMATION LABEL REQUIRED PURSUANT TO FEDERAL FOOD  AND  DRUG  ADMINIS-
TRATION  RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL HAVE USAGE AND WARNING LABELS WHICH
SHALL BE MARKED, STAMPED, TAGGED OR BRANDED IN LEGIBLE  AND  CONSPICUOUS
ENGLISH WORDS IN AT LEAST ELEVEN POINT PRINT.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
it shall have become a law.
