AN ACT to amend chapter 451 of the laws  of  2007  amending  the  public
  health law, the social services law and the insurance law, relating to
  providing  enhanced  consumer and provider protections, in relation to
  extending the effectiveness of certain provisions thereof

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Subdivision 2 of section 20 of chapter 451 of the laws of
2007, amending the public health law, the social services  law  and  the
insurance  law  relating  to  providing  enhanced  consumer and provider
protections, is amended to read as follows:
  2. sections two, three and twelve of this act  shall  take  effect  on
January 1, 2008; provided, however, that subparagraph (iii) of paragraph
(1)  of  subsection (a) of section 3238 of the insurance law as added in
section twelve of this act shall expire and be deemed repealed  December
31, [2009] 2011;
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
