BILL NUMBER: S6108 TITLE OF BILL : An act to authorize the county of Putnam to discontinue the use of certain lands as parklands for the purpose of constructing a senior center in the town of Kent PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : This bill would authorize the county of Putnam, to discontinue the use of certain lands as parklands for the purpose of constructing a senior center in the town of Kent. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : Section One of this bill would authorize the county of Putnam, acting by and through its County Legislature, to discontinue as parklands and alienate, certain lands presently dedicated for green space along Ludingtonville Road in the Town of Kent, for the purpose of constructing a senior citizen center. Section Two of this bill would provide that the authorization contained in this act would take effect only upon the condition that the county of Putnam shall dedicate replacement lands as additional

LEIBELL -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to authorize the county of Putnam to discontinue the use of certain lands as parklands for the purpose of constructing a senior center in the town of Kent THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act, the county of Putnam, acting by and through its county legislature, is hereby author- ized to discontinue as parklands and alienate, the lands described in section three of this act, for the purpose of constructing a senior citizen center in the town of Kent. S 2. The authorization contained in section one of this act shall take effect only upon the condition that the county of Putnam shall dedicate the lands described in section four of this act as additional parklands of the county. S 3. The lands authorized by section one of this act to be discontin- ued as parklands are as follows: All that tract or parcel of land situate in the town of Kent, Putnam County, New York state and being bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the westerly side of Ludingtonville Road at the southeasterly corner of the parcel herein described and which point is distant N 10-30-00 W 198.08 from a point on the westerly side of Ludingtonville Road where the same is intersected by the southeasterly corner of lands now or formerly Jackson, et al as described in Liber 774 cp 542 and the southerly line of lands now or formerly Midhills Land Corp. as established by a boundary line agreement as recorded in Liber 255 cp 371; thence from said point of beginning through lands now or formerly Jackson, et al as described in Liber 774 cp 542 N 48-49-33 W 133-32, S 57-44-28 W 29.19, N 52-33-01 W 85.69, N 32-13-45 W 104.27, N 13-07-44 W 15.73, N 34-22-53 E 18.30, N 49-10-48 E 62.15, N 35-49-37 E EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS : Section One of this bill would authorize the county of Putnam, acting by and through its County Legislature, to discontinue as parklands and alienate, certain lands presently dedicated for green space along Ludingtonville Road in the Town of Kent, for the purpose of constructing a senior citizen center.
