BILL NUMBER: S7915 TITLE OF BILL : An act to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation contracts of the Hamburg central school district PURPOSE : Relates to the transportation contracts for Hamburg Central School District. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : This bill rectifies submission errors made by Hamburg Central School district when filing transportation agreements from the 200506 school year. JUSTIFICATION : The Hamburg Central School District made an error in submitting transportation contracts for the 2005-2006 school year, and as a result, the State Department of Education did not approve them. In order for Hamburg Central to receive the correct amount of state transportation aid these past contract numbers must now be validated through special legislation. Failure to receive reimbursement of the transportation contract costs would create undue fiscal hardship to the school district and its students.
