AN  ACT  to  amend  the  executive  law,  in relation to authorizing the
  department of criminal justice services to create a publication relat-
  ing to concealed firearms

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 837 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
subdivision 19 to read as follows:
  19.  PROMULGATE,  IN  CONSULTATION  WITH  THE  SUPERINTENDENT OF STATE
POLICE, A STANDARDIZED PUBLICATION OF GENERAL INFORMATION  DEFINING  THE
TERM  "CONCEALED"  AND  ESTABLISHING  GUIDELINES  ON  WHERE  AND  WHEN A
CONCEALED FIREARM MAY NOT BE CARRIED PURSUANT TO ANY APPLICABLE STATE OR
FEDERAL LAW, RULE OR REGULATION.  SUCH PUBLICATION SHALL BE PROVIDED  TO
COUNTY  LICENSING  OFFICERS  FOR  DISTRIBUTION TO ANY PERSON RECEIVING A
CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT AND UPON THE REQUEST OF ANY PERSON WHO  POSSESSES
SUCH PERMIT PURSUANT TO SECTION 400.00 OF THE PENAL LAW.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
it  shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend-
ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
tation of this act on its effective date is authorized to be made on  or
before such effective date.
