AN ACT to amend the state law, in relation to establishing a state song

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The state law is amended by adding a new section 89 to read
as follows:
  S 89. STATE SONG.  THE SONG "LOW BRIDGE" BY THOMAS S. ALLEN WRITTEN IN
1902 SHALL BE THE OFFICIAL STATE SONG OF THE  STATE  OF  NEW  YORK.  THE
LYRICS TO THE SONG ARE AS FOLLOWS:
  VERSE 1: I'VE GOT AN OLD MULE AND HER NAME IS SAL
  FIFTEEN YEARS ON THE ERIE CANAL
  SHE'S A GOOD OLD WORKER AND A GOOD OLD PAL
  FIFTEEN YEARS ON THE ERIE CANAL
  WE'VE HAULED SOME BARGES IN OUR DAY
  FILLED WITH LUMBER, COAL, AND HAY
  AND EVERY INCH OF THE WAY WE KNOW
  FROM ALBANY TO BUFFALO
  CHORUS:
  LOW BRIDGE, EVERY BODY DOWN
  LOW BRIDGE FOR WE'RE COMING TO A TOWN
