AN  ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in
  relation to granting fee weekday admission to state parks to veterans

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  The  parks,  recreation  and historic preservation law is
amended by adding a new section 13.18 to read as follows:
  S 13.18 STATE PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITY  ACCESS;  VETERANS.    1.
NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY  OTHER PROVISION OF LAW TO THE CONTRARY, THE OFFICE
SHALL PROVIDE TO VETERANS, AS DEFINED IN  SECTION  ONE  HUNDRED  ONE  OF
TITLE  THIRTY-EIGHT  OF  THE UNITED STATES CODE UPON SUBMISSION OF VALID
PROOF OF SERVICE, ACCESS TO ALL STATE PARKS AND RECREATIONAL  FACILITIES
UNDER  THE JURISDICTION OF THE OFFICE OR OTHER STATE AGENCY, WITHOUT THE
CHARGE OF ANY ADMISSION ON ANY WEEKDAY THAT IS NOT A HOLIDAY.
  2. THE OFFICE SHALL PROMULGATE SUCH RULES AND REGULATIONS  AS  MAY  BE
NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
it shall have become a law, provided, however, that effective immediate-
ly,  the  addition,  amendment and/or repeal of any rules or regulations
necessary for the implementation of this act on its  effective  date  is
authorized  and  directed  to  be  made  and completed on or before such
effective date.
