AN ACT to amend the executive law, in  relation  to  authorizing  Nassau
  county  to  administer  and  enforce  the  uniform fire prevention and
  building code and the New York state energy conservation  construction
  code

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 383 of the executive law is renumbered section  384
and a new section 383 is added to read as follows:
  S  383.  AUTHORIZING  NASSAU  COUNTY TO ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE THE NEW
YORK STATE UNIFORM FIRE PREVENTION AND BUILDING CODE AND  THE  NEW  YORK
STATE  ENERGY CONSERVATION CONSTRUCTION CODE. 1. NASSAU COUNTY MAY ADOPT
A LOCAL LAW OR RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT
OF THE UNIFORM FIRE PREVENTION AND BUILDING CODE AND  THE  STATE  ENERGY
CONSERVATION  CONSTRUCTION  CODE  ON AND AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY,
TWO THOUSAND THIRTEEN.
  2. UPON THE ADOPTION OF SUCH LOCAL LAW OR  RESOLUTION,  NASSAU  COUNTY
SHALL  HAVE THE SAME POWERS, DUTIES AND REMEDIES AS ANY LOCAL GOVERNMENT
PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition,  amend-
ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
tation  of this act on its effective date is authorized to be made on or
before such date.

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-

OF THE UNIFORM FIRE PREVENTION AND BUILDING CODE AND  THE  STATE  ENERGY
CONSERVATION CONSTRUCTION CODE IMMEDIATELY.
  2.  UPON  THE  ADOPTION OF SUCH LOCAL LAW OR RESOLUTION, NASSAU COUNTY
SHALL HAVE THE SAME POWERS, DUTIES AND REMEDIES AS ANY LOCAL  GOVERNMENT
PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE.
  S  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately. Effective immediately,
the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or  regulation  neces-
sary for the implementation of this act on its effective date is author-
ized to be made on or before such date.
