AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring the board of
  education in the city of New York to provide school bus attendants

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Section  2554 of the education law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 28 to read as follows:
  28. TO PROVIDE, IN THE CITY OF NEW  YORK,  SCHOOL  BUS  ATTENDANTS  AS
DEFINED IN SECTION ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE-D OF THE VEHICLE
AND  TRAFFIC  LAW  FOR  ALL SCHOOL BUSES TRANSPORTING STUDENTS IN GRADES
KINDERGARTEN THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE IN SUCH CITY.
  S 2. This act shall  take  effect  on  the  first  of  September  next
succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law.
