  printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
  ment Operations

AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to the authority of the
  legislative bill drafting commission

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  The legislative law is amended by adding a new section 26
to read as follows:
  S 26. CONSENT OF SPONSOR. THE COMMISSION SHALL NOT STRIKE THE ENACTING
CLAUSE OF ANY LEGISLATIVE BILL OR RESOLUTION, EXCEPT  UPON  THE  EXPRESS
AUTHORIZATION OF THE PRIMARY SPONSOR OF SUCH BILL OR RESOLUTION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
