AN  ACT  to  amend  the  private housing finance law, in relation to the
  exclusion of a veteran's disability benefits from the  computation  of
  income in the selection of tenants

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1.  Section 31 of the private housing finance law  is  amended
by adding a new subdivision 13 to read as follows:
  13.    FOR  THE  PURPOSE  OF THIS SECTION,   PROBABLE AGGREGATE ANNUAL
INCOME SHALL NOT INCLUDE DISABILITY BENEFITS PAID BY THE FEDERAL GOVERN-
MENT TO A VETERAN FOR A SERVICE  CONNECTED  DISABILITY  NOR  SHALL  SUCH
BENEFITS BE INCLUDED IN COMPUTING ANY SURCHARGE AGAINST SUCH VETERAN.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of August next succeeding
the date on which it shall have become a law.
