BILL NUMBER:S2752

TITLE OF BILL:
An act
to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the authorization of the
county of Chenango to impose an additional one percent of sales
and compensating use taxes

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Extends authorization of the county
of Chenango to impose an additional one percent of sales and
compensating use taxes until November 30, 2013.

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section 1. Clause 24 of subparagraph
(i) of the opening paragraph of section 1210 of the tax law, as
amended by chapter 75 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as
follows:

(24) the county of Chenango is hereby further authorized and empowered
to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions imposing
such taxes at a rate which is one percent additional to the three
percent rate authorized above in this paragraph for such county for
the period beginning September first, two thousand two, and ending
November thirtieth, two thousand [eleven] thirteen;

JUSTIFICATION:
To provide any and all assistance and
undertake such
actions as are necessary to extend Chenango County's legal authority
to impose an additional one percent sales and compensating use tax
for the period of September 1, 2002 through November 30, 2013 or such
longer period as may be possible, and that all revenue derived
therefrom be used in the first instance, to pay the cost of
constructing and repaying any debts incurred in the construction of
the Chenango County Public Safety Building Project, and any
additional operating cost.

PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
None.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the  authorization
  of the county of Chenango to impose an additional one percent of sales
  and compensating use taxes

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Clause 24 of subparagraph (i) of the opening  paragraph  of
section  1210  of  the  tax law, as amended by chapter 75 of the laws of
2009, is amended to read as follows:
  (24) the county of Chenango is hereby further authorized and empowered
to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions  imposing  such
