BILL NUMBER:S2933 REVISED 02/09/12 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 112 of the laws of 2007 authorizing the commissioner of environmental conservation to discontinue the use of certain land as reserved lands within the Long Island Pine Barrens maritime reserve, in relation to the description of lands to be conveyed by the Longwood central school district to the state of New York PURPOSE: This amendment provides a corrected legal description of the non-preserve lands to be conveyed to the department to correct minor conflicts of title with adjoining private landowners. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Substitute a corrected legal description of the property to be conveyed to the department. JUSTIFICATION: Chapter 112 of the laws of 2007 provided for an exchange of real property between the State and the Longwood School district. In the process of doing the survey for the exchange, it was discovered that a small portion of land to be conveyed by the Longwood School district was subject to encroachment issues with adjoining property
