AN ACT in relation to extending the provisions of article 4 of the  real
  property tax law for residents in the counties of Orange, Rockland and
  Ulster;  and  providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expira-
  tion thereof

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  provision  of article 4 of the real
property tax law, because of the winter storms on February 23, 2010  and
February  25,  2010,  the  deadlines  to  file  for  real  property  tax
exemptions for the taxable year 2010  pursuant  to  sections  425,  458,
458-a, 459, 459-a, 459-b and 467 of the real property tax law are hereby
extended  from  March  1, 2010 until April 15, 2010 for residents in the
counties of Orange, Rockland and Ulster.    Any  such  filings  received
before  April  15,  2010  shall  be deemed to have been filed before the
applicable deadline.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and  shall  be  deemed  to
have been in full force and effect on and after March 1, 2010; provided,
that  the  provisions  of  this  act shall expire and be deemed repealed
April 15, 2011.
