MURRAY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to authorizing the use of sewer surplus for infrastructure projects other than sewer projects THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 453 of the general municipal law is amended by adding a new subdivision 4 to read as follows: 4. IN THE VILLAGE OF PATCHOGUE, FOR THE PAYMENT OF EXPENSES OR OBLI- GATIONS INCURRED BY SUCH MUNICIPALITY FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS, OR TO BE PLACED IN A SPECIAL FUND, NOT TO EXCEED FORTY PERCENT OF THE SURPLUS, TO BE USED SPECIFICALLY FOR FUTURE INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS. S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. Notwithstanding section 453 of the general municipal law or any other provision of law to the contrary, the village of Patchogue is hereby authorized to use revenues derived from sewer rents for the payment of expenses or obligations incurred by such municipality for infrastructure improvements, or to be placed in a special fund, not to exceed forty percent of the surplus, to be used specifically for future infrastructure improvements.
