Increases the authorized sulfur content of number 2 heating oil sold in this state from fifteen parts per million to five hundred parts per million; extends the effective date of limitations on the sulfur content of heating oil from July 1, 2012 to July 1, 2014.

AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation  to  the
  sulfur content of number two heating oil

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 1  of  section  19-0325  of  the  environmental
conservation  law,  as  added  by  chapter  203  of the laws of 2010, is
amended to read as follows:
  (1) On or after July first, two thousand [twelve] FOURTEEN, all number
two heating oil sold for use in residential, commercial,  or  industrial
heating  within  the  state shall not have a sulfur content greater than
[fifteen] FIVE HUNDRED parts per million.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
