BILL NUMBER:S2951 TITLE OF BILL: An act to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation contracts of the Garden City union free school district PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to legalize transportation contracts for the Garden City School District for the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation legalizes transportation contracts for the Garden City school district for the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years. This bill enables the Garden City School District to retain its transportation aid for the aforementioned years. JUSTIFICATION: This legislation is a special act to authorize the distribution of state transportation aid for certain omitted contracts. Garden City School District had contracts for transportation services, during the 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years, which were, inadvertently, not filed to the State Education Department for transportation aid.
