AN ACT to amend the public health  law,  in  relation  to  oversight  of
  dental laboratories and disclosure of the manufacturer of dental pros-
  thetic devices

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 206 of the public health law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 28 to read as follows:
  28. THE COMMISSIONER IS AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED  TO  PROMULGATE  RULES
AND  REGULATIONS  TO  ESTABLISH  QUALITY STANDARDS FOR DENTAL PROSTHETIC
DEVICES SOLD IN THE STATE AND PRODUCED  IN  DENTAL  LABORATORIES  OR  AT
OTHER DENTAL MANUFACTURING BUSINESSES.  THE COMMISSIONER IS ALSO AUTHOR-
IZED  AND DIRECTED TO PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS REQUIRING DISCLO-
SURE TO DENTISTS AND DENTAL PATIENTS OF THE PLACE OF MANUFACTURE OF  ANY
DENTAL  PROSTHETIC  DEVICES  USED  BY  THE  DENTIST  OR A PATIENT OF THE
DENTIST.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
