AN ACT to amend the public health law,  in  relation  to  immunity  from
  liability granted to volunteer emergency medical services personnel

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 3013 of the public health law,  as
added by chapter 290 of the laws of 2005, is amended to read as follows:
  6.  The  availability  of  an  award  or  other  benefit under article
eleven-AA [or article], eleven-AAA OR ELEVEN-AAAA of the general munici-
pal law shall not be deemed monetary compensation for  the  purposes  of
this section.
  S  2.  This  act  shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to
have been in full force and effect on and after July 26, 2005.
