AN ACT to provide for the apportionment payable to the Westfield central
  school district for operation of a universal  prekindergarten  program
  during 2011-2012 school year and making an appropriation therefor

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the  contrary,  the
number of unserved prekindergarten pupils used to compute the apportion-
ment  payable to the Westfield central school district for the universal
prekindergarten program during the 2011-2012  school  year  pursuant  to
section 3602-e of the education law shall be 20.
  S  2.  For  grants  payable  in  the 2011-2012 school year pursuant to
section 3602-e of the education law, the statewide total amount  of  all
grants  shall  not  exceed  the sum of the maximum amount of such grants
authorized by subdivision 10 of such section plus  seventy-one  thousand
five hundred sixty-seven dollars ($71,567).
  S  3.  The  sum  of  sixty-two thousand six hundred twenty-two dollars
($62,622), or so much thereof as may be necessary, is  hereby  appropri-
ated to the education department out of any moneys in the state treasury
in  the  general  fund  to  the credit of the state purposes account not
otherwise appropriated for its expenses in carrying out  the  provisions
of this act.
  S 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
