BILL NUMBER:S6794 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 62 of the laws of 2003, amending the public service law relating to establishing the New York telecommunications relay service center, in relation to making permanent provisions of law establishing such center PURPOSE: This will make permanent provisions of law establishing the New York telecommunications relay service center. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section One - Section 1 -- Amends section 4 of part H1 of chapter 6201 of the laws of 2003. It makes the provisions permanent. Section Two - Establishes the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: Public Service Law section 92-a(2)(a) requires that the New York Telecommunications Relay Service Center be located In Syracuse, New York. This provision expires on June 1, 2013. DeFRANCISCO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Energy and Telecommu- nications AN ACT to amend chapter 62 of the laws of 2003, amending the public service law relating to establishing the New York telecommunications relay service center, in relation to making permanent provisions of law establishing such center THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 4 of part H1 of chapter 62 of the laws of 2003, amending the public service law relating to establishing the New York telecommunications relay service center, as amended by chapter 128 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as follows: S 4. This act shall take effect on April 1, 2003, provided, however, if this act shall become a law after such date it shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after April 1, 2003[, provided, further, that section three of this act shall expire on June 1, 2013]. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD15134-01-2
