AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to the  notification  of
  residents  of  managed-care facilities of the presence of a registered
  sex offender living at the premises

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Section 168-c of the correction law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
  5. IT SHALL BE THE DUTY OF THE DIVISION  TO  NOTIFY  ANY  MANAGED-CARE
FACILITY  THAT A REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER IS LIVING ON THEIR PREMISES. IT
SHALL BE THE DUTY OF THE MANAGED-CARE FACILITY TO NOTIFY  ITS  RESIDENTS
AND  THE  IMMEDIATE  FAMILY  OF  SUCH  RESIDENTS OF THE PRESENCE OF SUCH
REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
