AN ACT to amend chapter 586 of the laws of 2002 amending the public
authorities law relating to creating an age limitation for police
candidates for the police department of the metropolitan transporta-
tion authority, in relation to the effectiveness thereof
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 586 of the laws of 2002 amending the
public authorities law relating to creating an age limitation for police
candidates for the police department of the metropolitan transportation
authority, is amended to read as follows:
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately, PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT
NO AGE RESTRICTION FIRST IMPOSED BY THE AMENDMENT TO SUBDIVISION 2 OF
SECTION 1266-H OF THE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES LAW MADE BY SECTION ONE OF THIS
ACT SHALL APPLY TO ANY APPLICANT FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE AUTHORITY POLICE
FORCE WHO HAS TAKEN AND PASSED THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION TO BE ELIGIBLE
FOR SUCH APPOINTMENT PRIOR TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
