BARRETT, SILVER, LUPARDO, NOLAN, HEASTIE, TITUS, GUNTHER, RUSSELL -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. DAVILA, FAHY, JAFFEE, LAVINE, ROBINSON, SOLAGES, STECK -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to applications for child care assistance THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 410-w of the social services law is amended by adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 7. (A) SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES, LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICTS SHALL UTILIZE A SIMPLIFIED APPLICATION FORM FOR PERSONS APPLYING ONLY FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE, AND NO OTHER TYPES OF BENEFITS. SUCH FORM SHALL CONTAIN NO MORE INFORMA- TION THAN IS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE AND REQUIRED PURSUANT TO STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING REQUIREMENTS. EACH LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICT SHALL MAINTAIN THE SIMPLIFIED APPLICATION ON ITS WEBSITE SO THAT APPLICANTS MAY APPLY ONLINE, AND SHALL MAIL SUCH APPLICATION TO THE APPLICANT AT HIS OR HER REQUEST. (B) THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE AND THE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES SHALL MAINTAIN HYPERLINKS ON THEIR RESPECTIVE WEBSITES DIRECTING APPLICANTS FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE TO THE ONLINE APPLICATION MAINTAINED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICT.
