BILL NUMBER:S2119

TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 413 of the laws of 2012,
relating to the abolition of the offices of fire commissioners by the
town of Deposit, in relation to making technical changes thereto

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Amends chapter 413 of the laws of
2012 relating to the Deposit fire district in the county of Delaware.

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 413 of
the laws of 2012 is amended to read as follows: Notwithstanding the
defects described in section one of this act, the town board of the
town of Deposit is hereby authorized to initiate proceedings pursuant
to article 17-A of the general municipal law to dissolve the [offices
of fire commissioners] Deposit fire district as if the town board were
the governing body of the [offices of fire commissioners] Deposit fire
district.

JUSTIFICATION: To amend chapter 413 of the laws of 2012 thereby
authorizing the town board of Deposit to dissolve the Deposit Fire
District. The 2012 act improperly referenced the "office of fire
commissioners" rather than the Deposit Fire District.

PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: New bill.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately; provided,
however, that the amendment to section 2 of chapter 413 of the laws of
2012 made by section one of this act shall not affect the repeal of
such section and shall expire and be deemed repealed therewith.
