BILL NUMBER:S7925 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 54 of the laws of 2014, enacting the capital projects budget, in relation to making technical corrections thereto PURPOSE: To provide for community college capital projects not including in the FY 2014-15 capital budget. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Makes technical corrections to chapter 54 of the laws of 2014 implementing the state fiscal plan for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. JUSTIFICATION: This bill would provide for capital projects at the City University of New York and State University of New York that were not included in the FY 2014-15 budget due to a technical error. The projects would provide an additional $4.5 million to the CUNY system and $81.2 million for SUNY. These projects are already budgeted into the State financial plan. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:

Section 1 of chapter 54 of the laws of 2014, enacting the Capital Projects Budget, is amended by repealing the items herein below set forth in brackets and by adding to such section the other items underscored in this section. CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK (APPROPRIATED TO THE CITY UNIVERSITY CONSTRUCTION FUND) COMMUNITY COLLEGES CAPITAL PROJECTS 2014-15 GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS (CCP) ... [15,628,000] 20,131,000 -------------- Capital Projects Funds - Other Capital Projects Fund Administration Purpose An advance for state financial assistance to community colleges for alterations and improvements to [existing] VARIOUS facili- ties including services and expenses, capital design, construction, ACQUISITION, reconstruction, rehabilitation and equip- ment; for health and safety, preservation of facilities, NEW FACILITIES program improvement or program change, environ- mental protection, energy conservation, EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
