AN  ACT  to  amend the state finance law, in relation to deductions from
  salaries of employees of the state police

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Subdivision 15 of section 201 of the state finance law, as
added by chapter 613 of the laws of 1998, is amended to read as follows:
  15. The comptroller is hereby authorized to deduct from the salary  of
any employee of the division of state police such amount as such employ-
ee  may  specify  in writing, to be filed with the payroll office of the
division of state police, for the purpose of contributing to the Trooper
Foundation - State of New York, Inc., AND/OR NYS TROOPERS PBA SIGNAL  30
FUND  INC., AND/OR NEW YORK STATE POLICE INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION EMER-
GENCY ASSISTANCE FUND, INC. Any such written authorization may be  with-
drawn  by  an  employee  at  any time upon filing written notice of such
withdrawal with the payroll office of the division of state police.  The
comptroller  is  hereby authorized to make such rules and regulations as
may be necessary to provide for deductions for this purpose.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
