SIMANOWITZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Environmental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to elec- tronic equipment disposal in a city having a population of one million or more THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The environmental conservation law is amended by adding a new section 27-2623 to read as follows: S 27-2623. ELECTRONIC WASTE COLLECTION; REMOVAL IN A CITY HAVING A POPU- LATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY LAW, ORDINANCE OR CODE TO THE CONTRARY ANY PERSON IN A CITY HAVING A POPULATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE RESIDING IN A BUILDING WITH LESS THAN ELEVEN RESIDENCES THAT DOES NOT HAVE A PICK-UP DESIGNATION SHALL BE ABLE TO CONTACT THE DEPARTMENT OF SANITATION OF SUCH CITY AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REMOVAL OF ELECTRONIC EQUIP- MENT FOR RECYCLING.
