AN ACT in relation to providing state aid to a certain school district;
and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration there-
of
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. State aid; tax exempt property for religious corporations.
1. State aid shall be payable to a school tax district, as defined in
subdivision five of this section when on any assessment roll the taxable
assessed valuation in such district is reduced by a taking of previously
taxable property by acquisition of a religious corporation, eligible for
tax exemption under section 462 of the real property tax law, which
becomes exempt as a result of such acquisition and approval of an appli-
cation for exemption.
2. The state aid payable to a school tax district as defined in subdi-
vision five of this section shall be equal to one hundred percent of the
total amount of taxes which were levied on the assessed valuation so
removed from the assessment roll in the year immediately preceding such
removal. In the next four succeeding years, state aid payable to such
school tax district shall be equal to 80 percent, 60 percent, 40 percent
and 20 percent, respectively, of the total amount of taxes which were
levied on the assessed valuation removed from the assessment roll for
the year preceding such removal.
3. In making computations and determinations pursuant to this section,
there shall be taken into account increases or decreases in the level of
assessment.
4. The chief fiscal officer of a school tax district which qualifies
for state aid pursuant to this section shall make application therefor
to the commissioner of education. The application shall be made on a
form prescribed by such commissioner and shall contain such information
as the commissioner shall require. Upon approval of the application
therefor by such commissioner, such state aid shall be paid upon audit
and warrant by the state comptroller.

5. The term "school tax district" shall mean a city school district
located within the county of Dutchess wherein real property was given
tax exempt status pursuant to section 462 of the real property tax law
resulting in a six-tenths of a percent or more decrease of taxable
assessed valuation in such municipal corporations originally approved
between February 28, 2015 and July 2, 2016.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed
repealed December 31, 2021.
