AN  ACT  to  amend the social services law, in relation to the duties of
  child protective services concerning reports of suspected child  abuse
  or maltreatment by an active duty member of the military

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 424 of the social services law is amended by adding
a new subdivision 6-c to read as follows:
  6-C. IN CASES  WHERE  THE  CHILD  PROTECTIVE  SERVICE  HAS  REASONABLE
GROUNDS TO BELIEVE THE PERPETRATOR OF SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE OR MALTREAT-
MENT IS AN ACTIVE DUTY MEMBER OF THE MILITARY, AS DEFINED BY SUBDIVISION
SIX OF SECTION ONE OF THE MILITARY LAW, FORWARD A COPY OF SUCH REPORT TO
THE APPROPRIATE MILITARY OFFICIALS;
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 424 of the social services law is amended by adding

OF  AN  ACTIVE  DUTY  MILITARY  FAMILY, AS DEFINED BY SUBDIVISION SIX OF
SECTION ONE OF THE MILITARY LAW, FORWARD A COPY OF SUCH  REPORT  TO  THE
DEPARTMENT  OF  DEFENSE  FAMILY  ADVOCACY  PROGRAM  AND THE MILITARY LAW
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AT THE INSTALLATION  WHERE  THE  MILITARY  MEMBER  IS
ASSIGNED;
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
