O'DONNELL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to duties performed by parole officers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 10 of the correction law is amended by adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 5. DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED EXCLUSIVELY BY GRADE TWENTY-ONE PAROLE OFFI- CERS ASSIGNED TO COMMUNITY SUPERVISION SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: EXECUTING PAROLE WARRANTS, TRANSPORTING PAROLEES, CONDUCTING SUBSTANCE ABUSE TESTING OF PAROLEES, CONDUCTING HOME OR FIELD VISITS WITH PAROLEES, CONDUCTING ANY INVESTIGATION RELATING TO PAROLEES VIOLAT- ING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THEIR RELEASE, OR ANY MATTER SPECIF- ICALLY RELATED TO PAROLEE SUPERVISION. NOTHING HEREIN SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO PREVENT A POLICE OFFICER FROM EXECUTING A PAROLE WARRANT. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
