AN ACT to amend chapter 486  of  the  laws  of  1964,  establishing  and
  constituting as a separate union free school district certain territo-
  ry  in the town of Canaan in the county of Columbia, and providing for
  its government, in relation to making technical amendments thereto

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Section 2-a of chapter 486 of the laws of 1964, establish-
ing and constituting as a separate union free  school  district  certain
territory in the town of Canaan in the county of Columbia, and providing
for  its  government,  as  added  by chapter 337 of the laws of 2013, is
amended to read as follows:
  S 2-a. Notwithstanding any other  law,  rule,  or  regulation  to  the
contrary,  in addition to the powers granted by section one of this act,
subject to the approval of the New York state education  department  and
the  board  of cooperative educational services for the sole supervisory
district of Rensselaer, Columbia, and  Greene  counties,  the  board  of
education  shall  be  authorized to utilize property located at [364] 11
Warren Street, Hudson, New York 12534, and to enter into any  agreements
necessary  to  carry  out  such  authority, for the purpose of providing
instruction to students enrolled in  the  Berkshire  Union  Free  School
District.
  S  2.   This act shall take effect upon issuance of a certification to
the commissioner of education that the board of  education  has  entered
into  any  necessary agreements and is occupying the premises located at
11 Warren Street, Hudson, NY  12534  for  the  purposes  of  instructing
students  at the Berkshire Union Free School District, provided that the
commissioner of education shall notify  the  legislative  bill  drafting
commission  upon the occurrence of the issuance of such certification in
order that the commission may maintain an accurate and timely  effective
data  base  of the official text of the laws of the state of New York in
furtherance of effectuating the provisions of section 44 of the legisla-
tive law and section 70-b of the public officers law.
