AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to  the  posting  of
  certain signs

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1.  Section 19.09 of the mental  hygiene  law  is  amended  by
adding a new subdivision (j) to read as follows:
  (J)  THE  COMMISSIONER SHALL PROVIDE FOR THE POSTING OF SIGNS ADVISING
WHERE TO GET HELP REGARDING THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF A  NARCOTICS
ADDICTION,   IN  ALL  FACILITIES  LICENSED  BY  THE  STATE  TO  DISPENSE
PRESCRIPTION DRUGS TO THE PUBLIC. SUCH SIGNS, NOT MORE THAN THREE INCHES
BY FIVE INCHES, MUST BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED BY  THE  FACILITY  AT  EACH
COUNTER  OR OTHER LOCATION WHERE PRESCRIPTIONS ARE DISPENSED. THE INFOR-
MATION CONTAINED IN SUCH SIGNAGE SHALL ALSO BE POSTED ON THE INTERNET AT
APPROPRIATE INTERNET SITES.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
have become a law.

AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the posting of certain
  signs

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1.  Section 6808 of the education law is amended by  adding  a
new subdivision 9 to read as follows:
  9.  POSTING  OF CERTAIN SIGNS.  THE COMMISSIONER, IN CONSULTATION WITH
THE COMMISSIONER  OF  THE  OFFICE  OF  ALCOHOLISM  AND  SUBSTANCE  ABUSE
SERVICES,  SHALL  PROVIDE FOR THE POSTING OF SIGNS ADVISING WHERE TO GET
HELP REGARDING THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF A NARCOTICS ADDICTION, IN
ALL  PHARMACIES  REGISTERED  PURSUANT  TO  THIS  SECTION  THAT  DISPENSE
PRESCRIPTION  DRUGS  TO  THE  GENERAL  PUBLIC. SUCH SIGNS, NOT MORE THAN
THREE INCHES BY FIVE INCHES, MUST BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED BY THE PHARMA-
CY AT EACH COUNTER OR OTHER LOCATION WHERE PRESCRIPTIONS ARE  DISPENSED.
THE  INFORMATION  CONTAINED  IN SUCH SIGNAGE SHALL ALSO BE POSTED ON THE
INTERNET AT APPROPRIATE INTERNET SITES.
