AN  ACT  to  amend  the  administrative code of the city of New York, in
  relation to uniforms to be worn by members of the auxiliary police

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Section  14-148 of the administrative code of the city of
New York is amended by adding a new subdivision d to read as follows:
  D. UNIFORMS. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE RULES  AND  REGULATIONS
DIRECTING THAT THE UNIFORMS TO BE WORN BY AUXILIARY MEMBERS OF THE REGU-
LAR  POLICE  FORCE BE DESIGNED IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO MAKE THEM DISTINCT
AND EASILY DISTINGUISHABLE FROM THE UNIFORMS  WORN  BY  MEMBERS  OF  THE
REGULAR POLICE FORCE.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
it shall have become a law. Provided, however, that effective immediate-
ly,  the  addition, amendment or repeal of any rule or regulation neces-
sary for the timely implementation of this act on its effective date are
authorized and directed to be made  and  completed  on  or  before  such
effective date.
