AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to  supplies  furnished
  by secretary and clerk

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 16 of the legislative law is amended  by  adding  a
new subdivision c to read as follows:
  C.  IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT PURCHASED PURSUANT
TO THIS SECTION  EACH  MEMBER  OF  THE  SENATE  AND  ASSEMBLY  SHALL  BE
FURNISHED  WITH A DEVICE THAT PROVIDES ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO LEGISLATION.
SUCH DEVICE SHALL BE MOUNTED TO EACH MEMBER'S DESK ON  THEIR  RESPECTIVE
FLOOR  OF THE SENATE AND ASSEMBLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF AIDING THE LEGISLA-
TORS IN THE FULFILLMENT OF THEIR LEGISLATIVE DUTIES.   THE USE  OF  SAID
DEVICES BY THE MEMBERS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS
PROMULGATED  BY THE TEMPORARY PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF
THE ASSEMBLY.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
