GOTTFRIED, McDONALD -- read once and referred to the Committee on Mental Health AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to providing confi- dential office of mental health records to attorneys THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph 3 of subdivision (c) of section 33.13 of the mental hygiene law, as amended by chapter 158 of the laws of 2005, is amended to read as follows: 3. to attorneys representing patients or clients in proceedings in which the patients' or clients' involuntary hospitalization, PLACEMENT IN A CORRECTIONAL SPECIAL HOUSING UNIT OR RESIDENTIAL MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT UNIT, or assisted outpatient treatment is at issue. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09312-01-5
