AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to  environmental
  conservation officers

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 1  of  section  209-q  of  the
general  municipal  law  is  amended by adding a new subparagraph (v) to
read as follows:
  (V) THE HOLDER  HAS  COMPLETED  THE  BASIC  SCHOOL  FOR  ENVIRONMENTAL
CONSERVATION  OFFICERS AS A SWORN MEMBER OF THE DIVISION OF LAW ENFORCE-
MENT IN THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
