AN  ACT  to  amend  the mental hygiene law, in relation to requiring the
  office of alcoholism and substance abuse services to  encourage,  aid,
  and  facilitate  clinical  research  into  the use of ibogaine in drug
  treatment

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Section  19.07  of  the  mental hygiene law is amended by
adding a new subdivision (l) to read as follows:
  (L) THE OFFICE  OF  ALCOHOLISM  AND  SUBSTANCE  ABUSE  SERVICES  SHALL
ENCOURAGE,  AID,  AND  FACILITATE  CLINICAL  RESEARCH  INTO  THE  USE OF
IBOGAINE IN DRUG TREATMENT FOR HEROIN AND COCAINE ADDICTION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in  relation  to  requiring  the

  treatment
