BRENNAN, ABINANTI, LENTOL, BUCHWALD, KAVANAGH, KIM, QUART, ROZIC, SEAWRIGHT, SIMOTAS -- (at request of the Dormitory Authority) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to the powers and duties of the dormitory authority of the state of New York THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 32 of section 1676 of the public authorities law, as added by chapter 672 of the laws of 1993, is amended to read as follows: 32. The term "public library" shall mean [those libraries set forth in section five of the chapter of the laws of nineteen hundred ninety-three which added this subdivision, as defined as] ANY LIBRARY CHARTERED BY THE STATE BOARD OF REGENTS OR INCORPORATED UNDER THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION LAW CONSTITUTING a public library [or as], an association library [pursuant to] OR A FREE LIBRARY AS DEFINED IN section two hundred fifty-three of the education law. S 2. This act shall not affect the status as a "public library" for purposes of title 4 of article 8 of the public authorities law of those libraries set forth in section 5 of chapter 673 of the laws of 1993, as amended from time to time prior to the effective date of this act, nor shall this act impair the validity of bonds heretofore issued by the dormitory authority for the benefit of any such library.
