AN ACT to amend the town law, in relation to making  the  acceptance  of
  state or federal assistance for airport or aviation projects at a town
  airport subject to a permissive referendum

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 220 of the town law is  amended  by  adding  a  new
subdivision 3-a to read as follows:
  3-A.  ACCEPT  FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM: (A) THE STATE OF NEW YORK; OR
(B) THE UNITED STATES, OR ANY AGENCY, OR  INSTRUMENTALITY  THEREOF,  FOR
AIRPORT AND AVIATION PROJECTS AT TOWN AIRPORTS OR LANDING FIELDS, PURSU-
ANT TO SECTION ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN-S OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to provide that the town of East Hampton, county of Suffolk,  may
  only  accept  financial  assistance  from the state of New York or the
  United States, or any agency, or instrumentality thereof, for  airport
  and  aviation  projects  at the town airport or landing field upon the
  adoption of a resolution subject to permissive referendum

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the
town board of the town of East Hampton may only accept financial assist-
ance from:  (a) the state of New York; or (b) the United States, or  any
agency, or instrumentality thereof, for airport and aviation projects at
town airports or landing fields, pursuant to section 119-s of the gener-
al  municipal  law, upon the adoption of a resolution subject to permis-
sive referendum, as provided by article 7 of the town law.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
