FISCAL NOTE.--Pursuant to Legislative Law, Section 50:
This bill would permit Monroe County deputy sheriffs-civil to retire
upon completion of twenty-five (25) years of creditable service. The
benefit upon retirement would be an allowance of one-half of final aver-
age salary. Further, it would permit such Tier 3 Monroe County employees
who elect on or before December 31, 2016 to forfeit their benefits under
Article 14 and all such Tier 4, 5 and 6 employees to retire upon
completion of twenty-five (25) years of creditable service with a bene-
fit of one-half of final average salary.
If this bill is enacted, we anticipate that there will be an increase
of approximately $9,930 in the annual contributions of Monroe County for
the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. In future years, this cost will
vary as the billing rates and salaries of those affected change.
In addition to the annual contributions discussed above, there will be
an immediate past service cost of approximately $67,900 which will be
borne by Monroe County. This estimate is based on the assumption that
payment will be made on February 1, 2017.
These estimated costs are based on 7 deputy sheriffs-civil, as
provided by Monroe County, with a total salary of approximately $400,000
for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.
