   read once and referred to the Committee on Codes
 
 AN ACT to amend chapter 656 of the laws of  2002  amending  the  general
   business  law  relating  to rental vehicle protections, in relation to
   extending the provisions of such chapter
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section 4 of chapter 656 of the laws of 2002 amending the
 general business law relating to rental vehicle protections, as  amended
 by chapter 82 of the laws of 2013, is amended to read as follows:
   §  4.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
 have become a law; provided that all of the amendments made by this  act
 shall expire and be deemed repealed June 30, [2018] 2023.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
