 AN ACT to amend the correction law, in  relation  to  private  probation
   companies
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. The correction law is amended by adding a new  section  209
 to read as follows:
   §  209.  PRIVATE  PROBATION  COMPANIES. NO PERSON, PARTNERSHIP, CORPO-
 RATION, ASSOCIATION OR  OTHER  BUSINESS  ENTITY  SHALL  PROVIDE  PRIVATE
 PROBATION  SERVICES  WITHIN  THE STATE. AS USED IN THIS SECTION THE TERM
 "PRIVATE  PROBATION  SERVICES"  SHALL  MEAN  COMMUNITY  SUPERVISION,  AS
 DEFINED  IN  SECTION TWO OF THIS CHAPTER, FOR WHICH THE SUPERVISED INDI-
 VIDUAL IS CHARGED A MANDATORY FEE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
