 AN  ACT  to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the
   siting of natural gas compressor facilities
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Article 19 of the environmental conservation law is amended
 by adding a new title 13 to read as follows:
                                 TITLE 13
                SITING OF NATURAL GAS COMPRESSOR FACILITIES
 SECTION 19-1301. SITING OF NATURAL GAS COMPRESSOR FACILITIES.
 § 19-1301. SITING OF NATURAL GAS COMPRESSOR FACILITIES.
   NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW TO THE CONTRARY, A NATURAL
 GAS COMPRESSOR FACILITY SHALL NOT BE SITED WITHIN TWO AND ONE-HALF MILES
 OF THE BOUNDARY OF ANY SCHOOL PROPERTY. FURTHERMORE, NO LICENSE SHALL BE
 ISSUED TO ANY INDIVIDUAL TO OPERATE ANY NATURAL GAS COMPRESSOR  FACILITY
 WITHIN TWO AND ONE-HALF MILES OF THE BOUNDARIES OF A SCHOOL PROPERTY.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
