 AN  ACT  to amend the real property tax law, in relation to a subsequent
   STAR exemption for persons sixty-five or older
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section  1.  Section  467  of  the real property tax law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 9-a to read as follows:
   9-A. A SENIOR CITIZEN ELIGIBLE  FOR  THE  EXEMPTION  PROVIDED  FOR  IN
 SUBDIVISION  ONE  OF  THIS  SECTION  SHALL, AFTER HIS OR HER INITIAL TAX
 EXEMPTION IS DETERMINED, RECEIVE A SUBSEQUENT  EXEMPTION  BASED  ON  THE
 FOLLOWING:
   (A)  A  SENIOR AGED SIXTY-FIVE TO SIXTY-NINE SHALL BE GRANTED A SUBSE-
 QUENT FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR EXEMPTION;
   (B) A SENIOR AGED SEVENTY TO SEVENTY-FOUR SHALL BE  GRANTED  A  SUBSE-
 QUENT ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR EXEMPTION;
   (C)  A  SENIOR  AGED  SEVENTY-FIVE  TO SEVENTY-NINE SHALL BE GRANTED A
 SUBSEQUENT ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR EXEMPTION;
   (D) A SENIOR AGED EIGHTY TO EIGHTY-FOUR SHALL BE GRANTED A  SUBSEQUENT
 TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR EXEMPTION;
   (E) A SENIOR AGED EIGHTY-FIVE TO EIGHTY-NINE SHALL BE GRANTED A SUBSE-
 QUENT TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR EXEMPTION; AND
   (F) A SENIOR AGED NINETY AND OLDER SHALL BE GRANTED A SUBSEQUENT THREE
 THOUSAND DOLLAR EXEMPTION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
