 AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to record  requests
   to state agencies
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 87 of the public officers  law  is
 amended by adding a new paragraph (d) to read as follows:
   (D) EACH STATE AGENCY SHALL COMPILE AND MAINTAIN A LIST OF EACH RECORD
 REQUEST RECEIVED BY SUCH AGENCY AND ITS STATUS. SUCH LIST SHALL INCLUDE:
   (I)  LISTING  THE  NAME OF THE PERSON AND/OR ORGANIZATION REQUESTING A
 RECORD;
   (II) THE RECORDS REQUESTED;
   (III) THE DATE RECEIVED; AND
   (IV) THE DATE THE RECORDS WERE PROVIDED OR THE DATE AND REASON FOR ANY
 DENIAL.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
 have become a law.
