S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 8312 2017-2018 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y June 7, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. WALLACE -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to authorize the superintendent of state police to convert certain accrued and accumulated annual leave and personal leave to sick leave THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the superintendent of the New York State Police, shall authorize the conversion of any accrued and accumulated, but unused annual leave and personal leave, if any, to sick leave relative to Joseph R. Menna, who sustained a performance of duty injury while in active service with the New York State Police. The provisions of this section shall not affect Joseph R. Menna's retirement benefits with the New York state and local police and fire retirement system. § 2. The leave to be converted pursuant to section one of this act shall be based on any applicable accumulated total accrued as of March 31, 2017. § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
