 Introduced  by  M.  of  A.  LUPINACCI  --  read once and referred to the
   Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions
 
 AN ACT in relation to the establishment of a discounted fare program for
   Long  Island  rail  road  weekly  and  monthly  passes  during  Amtrak
   construction;  and providing for the repeal of such provision upon the
   expiration thereof
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the metropol-
 itan transportation authority and any  of  its  subsidiary  corporations
 shall  establish  and  implement a temporary discounted fare program for
 all weekly and monthly Long Island rail  road  passes.  Such  discounted
 fare  program  shall  reduce the fare for weekly and monthly Long Island
 rail road passes by twenty-five percent,  and  shall  continue  for  the
 duration of Amtrak repair work disrupting Long Island rail road service,
 until the notification of completion of such work.
   ยง  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect  immediately and shall be deemed
 repealed upon notification of completion of repair work as  provided  in
 section  one of this act; provided that the chairman of the metropolitan
 transportation authority shall  notify  the  legislative  bill  drafting
 commission  upon  the notification of completion of repair work provided
 for in section one of this act in order that the commission may maintain
 an accurate and timely effective data base of the official text  of  the
 laws  of  the  state  of  New  York  in  furtherance of effectuating the
 provisions of section 44 of the legislative law and section 70-b of  the
 public officers law.
