AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in
relation to requiring parking spaces be striped for muni-meter
controlled spaces
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended
by adding a new section 19-175.5 to read as follows:
§ 19-175.5 STRIPING OF PARKING SPACES FOR ALL MUNI-METERED SPACES. A.
FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, THE FOLLOWING TERMS SHALL HAVE THE
FOLLOWING MEANINGS:
1. THE TERM "MUNI-METER" SHALL MEAN AN ELECTRONIC PARKING METER THAT
DISPENSES TIMED RECEIPTS THAT MUST BE DISPLAYED IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE
ON A VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD; AND
2. THE TERM "STRIPING" OR "STRIPED" SHALL MEAN THE DELINEATION OF
PARKING SPACES BY THE PLACEMENT OF DETAILED LINES.
B. ANY PARKING SPACE CONTROLLED BY A MUNI-METER SHALL BE STRIPED.
§ 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
it shall have become a law; provided, however, that effective immediate-
ly, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation
necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date is
authorized and directed to be made and completed on or before such
effective date.
