 Introduced  by  Sen.  AVELLA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor
 
 AN ACT in relation to requiring the department of labor, in  conjunction
   with the department of environmental conservation, to conduct an anal-
   ysis on the types and amounts of chemicals used in car washes

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, rule  or  regu-
 lation to the contrary, the department of labor, in conjunction with the
 department  of  environmental conservation, shall conduct an analysis on
 the types and amounts of chemicals and  toxic  substances  used  in  car
 washes.  Such  departments shall further develop the necessary rules and
 regulations for the  implementation  of  worker  protection  guidelines,
 including,  but  not limited to, the safe handling of such chemicals and
 toxic substances in the workplace.
   ยง 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
